Thoughts of Inclination

the hope around Yi Jien

leave a comment »

Yi Jien is still missing. The latest email I received written by Aunty Kim Guat was to ask all of us to fast and pray for Yi Jien!. Our cries are for God because He is the only one who can help Yi Jien now! I come across a lot of articles regarding Yi Jien’s case. Can you see the blessing beneath all these? Well, everyone around the world (maybe not everyone and not around the world) knows about Yi Jien. When Yi Jien comes out alive, his precious encounter wid The One can be a great testimony. The great effort to survive with the help from above can do so many things! He is alone to our eyes but actually he is not. He is with him!

And so, my friends…

The little support from each one of us means something. The prayer and petition to God Almighty!

Only He can bring miracles into this world which we are passing by.

Only He can rises the sun in us when the night creeps into us.

Only He can understand the pain of ours and heals all of them according to His own might.

Only He can… Only He can… Only He can…

Only He can rescue Yi Jien now…

Karcy shared with us :

I have a few additional updates about Yi Jien’s case. No clue about his location, but just some things that I feel need to be shared.

1. While I was praying today, begging for God to give any glimmer of hope, any indication for Yi Jien’s situation, I was directed to this Bible verse in my reading. As most of you know, I’m not exactly the fastest to jump to conclusions about flipping Bibles open and grabbing verses, but it’s something worth hanging on to, and reminding ourselves.

1 John 5.14-15 — New Revised Standard Version
And this is the boldness we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have obtained the requests made of him.

The first letter of John is addressed to the early Church regarding er, quite a number of things. In the typical way that John writes, it covers a lot of spiritual matters (I still struggle with the Gospel of John). But I can understand what he’s trying to get at here.

.

As you can see, God spoke to Karcy. From what she shared, she has never always the one who jumps to the verses. She reminded us that this is something we should be remindful of. God is working and He’ll never stop because we are precious in His eyes.

The song I sang in Sunday School popped up into my mind :

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world; Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in his sight; Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Jesus died for all the children,
All the children of the world; Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in his sight; Jesus died for the little children of the world.

Jesus rose for all the children,
All the children of the world; Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in his sight; Jesus arose the little children of the world.

Jesus wants the little children,
To be careful what they do; Honor father, mother dear
Keep their hearts so full of cheer; Then he’ll take them home to glory by and by.

.

I also come across Su Yin’s letter.

Dear all,

Thanks for all your love and care through your faithful prayers. I have received many of your mails and they really comfort my heart and put my hope in God through Jesus Christ. (with thankful tears)……….

…………………. Pray for God’s mercy and love to strengthen our hearts and keep trusting in Him. Please continue to pray unceasingly.

What’s different about Hwa? Apparently he is prepared with gear and supplies for his arduous trip. He applied for his backcountry permit, left a complete itinerary, and an anticipated return date. We’re always told, never to hike alone especially in grizzly country and my mind wonders, “Where is he?” He’s been gone so long now.

On our visit to the park last Saturday, I was painfully aware of his missing. Posters identified him and asked for any information to his location. Helicopters flew abnormally low in the park, breaking the quiet as they repeatedly searched for Hwa’s whereabouts. Having hiked with my family on some of the trails he was scheduled to take, I imagined other hikers would have found him by now if he was only injured and weak on the side of the trail. He seems to have vanished. Rescue efforts have been concentrating on the first leg of his journey, so it’s presumed he may have gotten into trouble early on. Did he slip on ice or break through a snow bridge? Could he have tumbled down a scree slope, startled a grizzly and been dragged away? Has he tried to signal, to no avail? With no cell service in the park, did he pack a whistle? Will these questions ever be answered?

.

And so my friends, let us join our palms together and pray for Yi Jien. The search is still on. And so our hope in God! Let the flame keeps burning.

God worked, works and is still working in our everyday lives.

Stand strong as He stands with us…

Missing Yi Jien!!

with 3 comments

WEST GLACIER, Mont. —  Searchers on Friday found no sign of a 27-year-old Kentucky man who was four days overdue from a lengthy backcountry hike in Glacier National Park.

Park officials say Yi-Jien Hwa was last seen at the St. Mary Visitor Center on Aug. 11, the first day of a hike that he planned to end Monday at Kintla Lake. His car was found in the Logan Pass Visitor Center parking lot. He was believed to be hiking alone.

Park spokeswoman Norma Sosa said improved weather Friday allowed one helicopter to join the search.

The incident commander said the flight “gave them a better grasp of the areas” Hwa intended to hike, Sosa said.

Searchers check back with park officials every two hours and none had reported finding any sign of Hwa by mid-afternoon Friday, Sosa said.

Hwa’s family notified park officials Tuesday night that they had not heard from him since the first day of the hike, and he had not contacted them as agreed at the day he expected to end his hike.

Tina Puge, a spokeswoman at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Ky., said Hwa is a master’s student as Asbury and lives in Lexington, Ky. She said Hwa’s wife was traveling to Montana.

Sosa said Hwa’s permit said he planned to cover 96 miles on his hike, with an increase of 15,000 feet in elevation and a similar descent over the course of the hike.

“It was quite an arduous trip,” Sosa said.

Hwa’s backcountry permit, like many given out by the park, advised him to watch for bears and mountain lions and warned him that hypothermia and giardia were possible concerns. It also said that a solo hike was not recommended.

Hwa is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He is believed to be carrying a blue Kelty backpack and trekking poles, along with other equipment, and might be wearing dark-colored clothing.

Yi Jien is Aunty Kim Guat’s eldest son. He has been missing and Aunty Kim Guat is already in US.

1. Please, please, please pray for Yi Jien that he will be safe and the Lord’s mercy will be upon him as he survives each day.

2. And also Aunty Kim Guat and her family as they must be very worried about Yi Jien now.

.

Hope everything will be what it is according to the Lord’s mighty plan.

Yeah, everyone has gone through this first semester exam long, long way ago.. But not some. So, I’m not the last. Alan who in Manchester Matriculation College has not taken his mid year exam. *laughing my ass off*

Anwar was taken and jailed for 24hours. It took about 10 to 15 cops just to get him to jail. Even our beloved PM doesn’t have this privilege.

A Teenager’s View Of Heaven

with 6 comments

17-year-old Brian Moore had only a short time to write something for a class. The subject was what Heaven was like. ‘I wowed ‘em,’ he later told his father, Bruce. ‘It’s a killer. It’s the bomb. It’s the best thing I ever wrote..’ It also was the last.

Brian Moore died May 27, 1997, the day after Memorial Day. He was driving home from a friend’s house when his car went off Bulen-Pierce Road in Pickaway County and struck a utility pole. He emerged from the wreck unharmed but stepped on a downed power line and was electrocuted.

The Moores framed a copy of Brian’s essay and hung it among the family portraits in the living room. ‘I think God used him to make a point. I think we were meant to find it and make something out of it,’ Mrs. Moore said of the essay. She and her husband want to share their son’s vision of life after death. ‘I’m happy for Brian. I know he’s in heaven. I know I’ll see him.’

Brian’s Essay: The Room…

In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in the room. There were no distinguishing features except for the one wall covered with small index card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endless in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read ‘Girls I have liked.’ I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was.

This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn’t match. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.

A file named ‘Friends’ was next to one marked ‘Friends I have betrayed.’ The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird ‘Books I Have Read,’ ‘Lies I Have Told,’ ‘Comfort I have Given,’ ‘Jokes I Have Laughed at .’ Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: ‘Things I’ve yelled at my brothers.’ Others I couldn’t laugh at: ‘Things I Have Done in My Anger’, ‘Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents.’ I never ceased to be surprised by the contents.

Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my years to fill each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature.

When I pulled out the file marked ‘TV Shows I have watched’, I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I hadn’t found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of shows but more by the vast time I knew that file represented.

When I came to a file marked ‘Lustful Thoughts,’ I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content.

I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind: No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!’ In insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn’t matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it.

Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.

And then I saw it.. The title bore ‘People I Have Shared the Gospel With.’ The handle was brighter than those around it, newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand.

And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that they hurt. They started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. I must lock it up and hide the key. But then as I pushed away the tears, I saw Him.

No, please not Him. Not here. Oh, anyone but Jesus. I watched helplessly as He began to open the files and read the cards. I couldn’t bear to watch His response. And in the moments I could bring myself to look at His face, I saw a sorrow deeper than my own.

He seemed to intuitively go to the worst boxes. Why did He have to read every one? Finally He turned and looked at me from across the room. He looked at me with pity in His eyes. But this was a pity that didn’t anger me. I dropped my head, covered my face with my hands and began to cry again. He walked over and put His arm around me. He could have said so many things. But He didn’t say a word. He just cried with me.

Then He got up and walked back to the wall of files. Starting at one end of the room, He took out a file and, one by one, began to sign His name over mine on each card. ‘No!’ I shouted rushing to Him. All I could find to say was ‘No, no,’ as I pulled the card from Him. His name shouldn’t be on these cards. But there it was, written in red so rich, so dark, so alive. The name of Jesus covered mine. It was written with His blood. He gently took the card back. He smiled a sad smile and began to sign the cards. I don’t think I’ll ever understand how He did it so quickly, but the next instant it seemed I heard Him close the last file and walk back to my side.

He placed His hand on my shoulder and said, ‘It is finished.’ I stood up, and He led me out of the room. There was no lock on its door. There were still cards to be written.

‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’-John 3:16. ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ‘-Phil. 4:13. If you feel the same way, forward it so the love of Jesus will touch their lives also. My ‘People I shared the gospel with’ file just got bigger, how about yours?

Another summer day
Has come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmmmmmm

Maybe surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Babe I miss you, you know

And I’ve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
“I’m fine baby, how are you?”
Well I would send them but I know that it’s just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that

Another aeroplane
Another sunny place
I’m lucky I know
But I wanna go home
Mmmm, I’ve got to go home

Let me go home
‘Cause I’m just too far from where you are
I wanna come home

And I feel just like I’m living someone else’s life
It’s like I just stepped outside
When everything was going right
And I know just why you could not
Come along with me
That this is not your dream
But you always believed in me

Another winter day has come
And gone away
In even Paris and Rome
And I wanna go home
Let me go home

And I’m surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
Oh, let me go home
Oh, I miss you, you know

Let me go home
I’ve had my run
Baby, I’m done
I gotta go home
Let me go home
It will all be all right
I’ll be home tonight
I’m coming back home

.

Moral Values by The Government

with 18 comments

There are basically two news from me. Which to listen first? Good or bad? Let us start with the BAD news… I sprained my right ankle again for the second time!! And the GOOD news is I’m joining the intra-college basketball competition. And it’s on Monday dated 12/05/2008. Wondering how am I going to jump and run..!!??

Any ideas, friends?

_______________________________________________________________________________________

I was down in Mich Yu’s place which is just 5 minutes walk from KL Sentral according to her. I

disagree

strongly!! It is frigging 10 minutes. Looks like Mich has just lost her sense of time when she is in KL. (Sigh)

There is a centre for the blinds. It is called Malaysian Association of Blinds. Guess what did I see?

Hot blind chicks!

Okay… Just a hot chick!!

I saw the blinds walking in the streets and it’s not just ordinary streets. The streets are busy and cars, motors, lorries and any vehicle that can move are there for real..!!

For reeaaallll..!!

The government does make it simpler for the blinds. They did paths which they can feel when they walk. But and another but….. How are they going to cross the streets where’s no easier ways for them? Malaysian Association of Blind is in the town and yet the government pays no attention into this matter. How considerate they are huh? “Helping the poor and needy” is their annual slogan when election matters. Nothing is done and they thought we are BLIND…

Perhaps they are the blind ones that thought we are the blind. They are just too blind enough to see the people’s needs.

The morality is blinded.

Say ‘Tak-Nak’ to Pendidikan Moral!!
